Introducing DocuSign forms for W-8BEN/E and FATCA/CRS

We’re pleased to share that FIIG now supports DocuSign for completing and executing both W‑8BEN/E and FATCA/CRS forms. This change aims to provide a faster, more secure, and more convenient option for clients who prefer to complete their documentation electronically.
- Clients can now complete and sign pre-populated W‑8BEN/E and FATCA/CRS forms digitally via DocuSign.
- This option is available immediately and will be our default option moving forward.
- Traditional methods (paper forms and wet signatures) will remain available as an option.
What you need to do:

Who needs to sign a W-BEN/E form? Investors with US Investments.
A W-8BEN form must be signed by individuals who are not US taxpayers but receive U.S.-sourced income or hold US investments. The form confirms that an investor is not a US taxpayer, so the correct (often reduced) US tax withholding can be applied to their income. This form needs to be reconfirmed every 3 years.
Who needs to sign FATCA/CRS? All Investors.
FATCA/CRS forms confirm where you are a tax resident, so your investments are reported correctly to tax authorities. This helps ensure the right tax treatment applies to you and prevents delays, restrictions, or incorrect reporting. As an Australian financial institution, FIIG is legally required to collect FATCA information from clients. Most clients will have already completed the FATCA/CRS form as a part of their initial onboarding process, and it will only be a material change in your circumstances that could require you to sign this form again. Please contact the Client Services Team to see if this applies to you.
What Happens Next.
Please keep an eye out for W-BEN/E or FATCA DocuSign emails from FIIG, which will come from client services upon request.
